29–2 …. $5k!!!!!

The gun in question, 1108662738, is really nice but not as nice as I have seen (and shot). There is blue missing from the inside of the yoke (pic 19). You can see daylight between the grips at the rear, there is a chip out of the right grip and the grips are not even book matched (pic 23). Someone has written on the shipping box including the misspelled “Modle 29” (Pic 26). The 29 I shot belongs to a friend and is in better shape than this one and as I remember he bought it on Gunbroker less than five years ago for 1650.00. If the market value of this gun is really 5000.00, then I am sure there are folks on this forum who if you weren’t millionaires before, you sure are now!

I would LOVE to know where to get a mint 27-2 6" 3T Smith
Other than GunBroker
Ive had some nice ones. At least I thought that were.
But, still id love to have just 1 truly mint 27-2 6" barrel - nothing special like a 5" or 3.5" - just a run of the mill 27-2 6" no later than '78
That's just what I would like to find

Put it up on the WTB forum here… you never know!

You know what, your right!
Just gotta be careful I reckon
See how long the guy has been a member and see how many posts they have done. Get a real photograph sent to your messages here. I’d even go so far as to say to get the guy to take some video of himself with it so you can see it from all angles…

FYI, I have a S&W Model 27-2 .357 Magnum with a 6.5 inch barrel that I would consider selling. It was shipped in 1972 so it is C&R eligible. I'd say it is in near-mint condition and has been fired very little. It is in the original serial numbered S&W box with original tools and two sets of original wooden grips. It also has a speed loader and holster specifically made for the Model 27.

Thank you.

Only way I'd even consider paying that much would be if it were the first .44M to come off the assembly line. That's not even an old dash-2, probably shipped mid-year 1978 given the SN. My M27-2 has a SN 10,764 earlier than that one and shipped Feb 22 of '78.
