Were any of the 29-2's shipped in the cardboard boxes or did they all come in the presentation case? Standard catalog say's
optional presentation case. Just curious!

I have a 4" nickle M29-2 that has the wood box. It was made in about 1972. No idea what they came in later.

I think all .44 Magnums shipped with presentation boxes, initially, and it was only optional beginning sometime in the 1980s that it became optional.

My 29-2 came in a blue box with a wood box in a big cardboard box. I still have them all.

I've never received one but I seen them advertised on GB with he presentation case shipped in a separate cardboard box and the revolver with the regular S&W blue box. Like I said but I never bought a 27-2 or 29-2 that came with both. Maybe Bill-Doc44 can come up and tell us what's real.

When I got my first one it was factory fresh and shipped in the presentation case. Whe I bought a NIB one a year or more ago (circa 1972) it was also shipped in the presentation case. No separate boxes.

All Model 29-2s were shipped with a presentation case. It was a special order option from 1982-1985 and then discontinued.
