I have a 29-2 8-3/8 inch barrel in a presentation box with tools. Nickel finish. 44 magnum. Target trigger, hammer and sights. Factory wood grips. Supposed to be only shot less than 10 times. This was told to me by the previous owner. Made in the early 70s. I will try to post pictures but I never have very good luck with this. Any idea on the fair value for the buyer and seller?

Condition, completeness, and originality are the keys to determining value. It's been shot less than 10 times, that could be 10 cylinder fulls or 3 rounds as the factory test firing, then one cylinder full (6 rounds) by the buyer. Being shot by the buyer, even if only 6 rounds, will affect the value to a NIB collector. Given today's market, I doubt you will find any 29-2 that is factory nickel plated and with case, tools, and docs for less than $1500. Top price could easily be $2000, maybe a bit more for a motivated buyer.

I agree with stansdds.....Yours would be more LNIB as opposed to NIB I bought a 4'' nickel NIB only factory fired years ago, for {$450.00} guess it would be worth $2000.00-$2500.00 today...still have it!.................................................M*

Being a realist, and checking sold prices on gunbroker I located one similar to your description that recently sold for $1609.00 Others priced higher reviewed no bids… You will usually get suggested higher prices from those that will never make their price an offer…

I have been collecting them recently. I have bought a few on gunbroker as new presentation case with tools and paper work. Price will range from $1800 to $2500 depending on condition.

I once owned (2 years ago) a revolver exactly like the poster has. I paid $1200 for it. All tools were present and the presentation box was in excellent condition. Sold it for $1500. It was a gorgeous revolver!

A "As New" 1956 Blued model 29 no dash with original everything just hammered for $6,125 on GB the other day.
