29-2 Presentation box 1978-82 question

Hi there. I was wondering if someone could post a picture of the presentation box for the 29-2 1978 or later if they have one. According to the S&W catalog a change was made in 78 and the tools were instead under a door instead of out with the gun in the earlier version. It also doesn’t mention if the frock colour changed.

I’m looking at buying a 1978 and I’m trying to determine by the pictures if the inside of the box is original. The inside is black and I don’t see a door. If the colour stayed blue then I’d know for sure.

I would like to say I have never seen a case from that era in it's original condition! The original covering of the plastic insert was a piece of thin blue foam rubber which turned to blue dust over time whether the case was used to store a gun or not! I have recovered MANY of these cases over the years and have bought a couple sealed in cellophane, but when they were opened they had deteriorated over time also! This is the condition of this type liners as found today!

yes,and they even "disintegrated" without ever even having put a gun in the case.............poof, gone.......
