29-3 stocks

It depends on what you mean by "correct." I believe the gun would have shipped from the factory with checkered target grips. The smooth target grips were available as replacements for the factory targets. The grips on your gun appear to be square butt N frame grips and in that regard are the correct choice for the gun but likely did not ship from the factory with the gun.

I was told one time that my 29-3 had the correct stocks, when I asked about the Packmeyer Presentation Grips.

My understanding as long as the Packmeyer's were made in LA and not Mexico they would have been shipped that way.

I do not recall S&W using Pachmayr rubber stocks as factory stocks. Beginning with the Model 29-6, the Hogue Monogrip rubber stock became the factory standard stock.

These stocks should be the correct ones, so I have been told. My 29-3. Bob

My M29-3 came with Football Targets, but I bought it used. The date on the stocks is really close to the ship date per SCS&W so I am thinking this is the way it left the factory.

Though I no longer have it I bought a new 4" 29-3 in 1986 or '87 and it came with the speed loader cut stocks like DR505's. The 625-3 and -4 came from the factory with Pachmayr Gripper rubber grips.

Regardless the grips in the op look great!
