29 this year…. How bad does this “sickness” get???

Colt, Ruger and now Kimber makes revolvers too.
They do! But, they're NOT Smith & Wesson. While I don't have a HUGE collection, my DA revolvers are 96% S&W. The rest are S&W style, i.e., push the cylinder release forward & counter clockwise cylinder rotation.

My SA revolvers are 8 Colts & three Ubertis.

Everything I have right now is S&W.
I have a small area of interest.
I’m partial to the half lug ejector rod shroud, so I have 629, 66, 57, 53, 29, 28, 27, 25, 19..
About to receive a 48 with a 53 barrel.
The only ones I don’t have in that design are pre 17 and pre 18… and a 686-3 on its way.
Couple of Cimarron cowboy guns in sight to be bought this year.
At some point a 22 mag rifle, possibly a 1911 and an 1887 Mare’s leg.
That’ll be it. No mo’ after that.
No way…. ‘cept maybe…

I can go 7-10 months or more without buying anything. Then it seems I stumble on to one, I have always been halfhearted looking for, then suddenly another will fall into my lap and another. Then a long wait for another. Nothing I have to have, just fill ins. Recently was a model 67-3, always wanted one to fill in with the 67s 15s and 4" 14-6s I have. Then same website had a PRE-15 for sale, cheap, only it wasn't, was a 4" pre 14 4" one of the KC PD guns from1956. Lots of honest holster wear but carry up and action are nice and no big dings or anything. Both need some cleanup and attention, but are in great condition mechanically. Now on the waiting period, which is fine.

With my Rheumatoid Arthritis I cannot manage SA revolvers safely so I sold them off to buy Kimbers.

I’m thinking of collecting Kimber revolvers since with Kimber I can get first year production models. 2016 was the first with the K6s. I got a first year K6xs that is my EDC.

It's only the size of the gun safe that limits the amount of guns, problem solved just buy a bigger safe

The worst facilitator of the gun disease is a Spouse that not only doesn't care how many gun's you buy, but buy's them for you as Christmas and Birthday presents. You therefore have no "Checks" on you at all. The only time I got a negative was in the middle of the Curio and Relic madness when Eastern Bloc and other Countries flooded the market with impossibly inexpensive rifles and handguns. The sickness was on me and finally said "The house smells like a car repair shop, take them to the garage to clean." Cosmoline, you know. Last S&W, the M&P 2.0 in .45.IMG_2141 - Copy.JPG

How bad does it get? I’m 75 and am embarrassed to say what I have in two gun safes, and I don’t embarrass easily. Learn to cook and eat red beans and rice. It will maintain your nutrition as your collection magically grows. And no, there is no cure.
Love me some red beans and rice Louisiana style

I have struggled with the Smith affliction since 1972 among others. As my wife puts it reguarly, she worked for guns, cars and kids college educations. I covered home, hearth and retirement per her.
There is no cure. I kicked smoking, seldom drink. I gave up chasing women, when i got married 52 years ago, so I figured I was due one vice.
She waited, in the car with kids on more then one occasion, when I stopped at a gun shop on way home from or too her mothers. (two plus hour drive). While there, I would make my Saturday run to a great facilitator shop with 4000 guns in stock. I know where she is going when we pass, me on the other hand, I have some work to do.,
I passed the need stage for handguns easily by 1980. After that it was pure want and lust. I used to take a friend with me into the gun stores or shows to talk me outta more.
Of late I have been rationalizing my horde, by make, by barrel length, caliber and duplication and who gets what down the road. Got my self down to 24 Smiths about a quarter of what I had and all others about 30% are left. I quit going to gun stores and shows for last 4 to 5 years. (My buddy passed.)
Everything was going good, then I slipped, last month, I bought, a want gun again, cause I sold my 410 o/u. Then I saw the new mtn guns 22 and 10mm and started rationizing, that I need them to round out a hole in my Smiths. Today a fellow shooter let me shoot his beretta 688 over under, on sporting clays course, more lust.
Reached a conclusion while typing this I have a problem. I need to go to range more, to shoot what I have, and stop thinking about more additions. Say 2 deletions. per addition. Oh well a man needs at least one vice, specially one my wife supports.

Oh, I certainly had the Smithness virus, I loaded up on a large number of revolvers, sold all the Smith autos. I felt I was terminal, then discovered a renewed interest in 1911’s, after years of fighting that new virus I discovered that contracting the Signess, drove the 1911ness into remission. Well, low and behold, the only way to fight back the Signess, was to renew my interest in S&W. My name is ARgon, and I so desperately need help!

I have doubled up on three revolvers of the exactly same model, finish and barrel length.
29-2 6.5” Blue
27-2 6” Blue
19-3 4” Blue
I should not try to rationalize this insanity.
