I took my new M&P15T out to the range again this morning with another 100 rounds. As expected it performed flawlessly. I dialed in both the iron sights and the red dot sight quickly and then just had fun shooting at the 100 yard bench with the red dot. I now have 200 rounds through it with no failures. My last target was shooting 25 rounds as quickly as I could squeezing the trigger as soon as the red dot returned to target. Reacquiring the target with a red dot is FAST! Lots of fun! The rings are 1" apart, 6.5" center to center measuring the two shots farthest apart. Here's the target:

Right on

With the quality of you rifle and your ability, don't mess with 100 yards. Go for 200.

My wife was finishing up the zeroing process on her rifle, also a S&W M&P 15T (which you are somewhat the cause of), went for a 12" diameter gong at 200 yards this afternoon with great success. She was using a Bushnell "Trophy MultiReticall" inexpensive optic for her sight.

We enjoy watching your progress. Keep it up.

Thanks! I'm really enjoying it. I took a look at the 200 yard range today and I'll definitely be giving it a try next trip.

Is the Bushnell Trophy the optic with a similar profile to the ACOG? I really liked that sight and the price was certainly right. Do you both like the Trophy?

Good shooting - terrorists and other dregs of society should beware in your neighborhood.

Bushnell red-dot

Oh no, not the ACOG look alike, she wanted to make the least expensive mistake, and went with the.

Bushnell Trophy 1x28 Rifle scope Matte 4 Dial-In Electronic - Green Dot for low light, Red Dot sight for bright light 730135 FREE S&H 730135. Bushnell Trophy Red Dot Sights, Bushnell Red Dot Sights.

At 200 yards a 12 inch gong is completely covered by the smallest dot.

I see a more expensive sight in her future. But this was our first step into something other than a "real" scope. She would like a M68 like the Army uses, but.......

I went the inexpensive optic route as well. I'm pretty pleased with the Primary Arms M4 so far. We'll see how it holds up over time. I'm thinking about getting a real scope at some point. I've not spent any appreciable time shooting with magnification. Most of my experience is with iron sights.
