Was just preparing to suggest the same thing. The 8-shot .357 is an awesome concept, but all the ones for sale now look weird or futuristic or something. The most normal looking 8 shot for sale now is probably the night guard, which is space age polymer and probably kicks like a mule.
Actually S&W HAS produced a more traditional looking revolver based on the model 27 N frame and distributed them through Lew Horton (alas, with the lock). The run was limited production however, and now these guns fetch ungodly prices when they go up on gunbroker. I can afford to own one, but I'd almost be afraid to shoot it. Kind of like owning a new 4x4 pickup and being afraid to get the paint scratched actually driving it down a logging road.
We just need S&W to understand that most revolver enthusiasts prefer the simple sexy elegant lines of the more traditional six guns (even as we are clamoring for 8 shots!).
