I previously purchased a 2 inch 640 and liked it. This 3 inch was offered on the forum, I purchased it. Shipped December 1990
The came with box and factory literature.

Pretty cool. Don't see many of those for sale anymore. Thanks for showing.

I've had and carried many J-frames. The enclosed hammers were always a favorite. I've sent most of the alloy-frames down the road as they just were no fun to shoot often( for me anyway). I prefer the steel/stainless versions. These will be with me a long time,,,

Lower left is a "CEN" prefix 640. It gets most of the carry time.
If I had run across a 3" model, it would be here too!
Great pickup!!

I love my 640-1 it's a joy to shoot. Maybe Nyeti can convince the mothership to prop some new 3 inch J''s. A 3 inch J with improved sights, trigger and no lock would have me whipping out my wallet!

I thought about buying the OP's gun when it was posted, to go with my 3" 940. I talked myself out of it. I already have a 2" 640 no dash and a 640-1. I just couldn't justify 3 of them. Sometimes you just have to say no. It is a very nice revolver that you don't see very often.
I've been on a bit of a bender this month two 3" K frames, my 3rd FAL, a Randall and a Gerber Commander. I better stop before I need a 12 step program and a support group.

60-3

Here's an interesting one that's not too common but similar. A 60-3, 3" DAO. Lightweight fun to shoot! Goes nicely with it's big brother, a NY 64 DAO. Sorry about the picture orientation. My smartphone was not cooperating!

Happy shootin',

Fred
