Very nice Pete. I'm a big fan of 3" j frames also. No other revolver fits my hands as well. Mine is a 60-15 with high viz front/adj rear sights.

I love the three's". I also have the 36 skinny and heavy barrels. My appreciation of 3" tubes extends equally to K frames and (cover your ears) DA Rugers.

Love the 3". Try and find a 60-4 or a 36-6. Both with the full lug. About perfect balance, and extremely accurate.

I recently picked up a 36-1 3" HB/SB. I haven't found any stocks that I really like for it yet. I would like a boot style stock with the backstrap exposed.

I've had the same problem with my 36-1 3" HB round butt. After trying no less than three different aftermarket stocks, I keep going back to the factory grips:

Here's my other 3" Js, a pair of model 31-1s in .32 S&W Long:

I never thought I would like my 30 but that 32 S&W is nice to shoot!

I'm not prejudiced at all! I like all the old S&W revolvers with 3" (up to 3 1/2") tubes . . . N frame, K frame and J frame!

Just missed out on a 3" model 36 (round butt, heavy barrel), so I have to console myself with this one :)
Great little carry gun.

love to get my hands on a stainless one!!!!

3" J frames look great, very balanced and just the right proportions. How are the 3" typically used for service? Duty weapon, as opposed to 2" for conceal?

This is a 3" Model 60 I bought new. I used to carry it a lot. Now it is retired. It came DAO with a despurred hammer from the factory. The guy said it was a New York City PD over run but who knows.

My lovely bride used to carry this Model 36 when she worked late downtown. She carries an LCP now.

From my days as a Defective. Still have it. Model 36 no dash flat latch. I wasn't the first guy to whom it was issued.

My only 3 Incher

My small 3 Incher. She is as new and one of my favorites. John
