That is as great loooking piece, these are sweet shooters, you're gonna like it a lot. I've had one since they first came out, the complete package like yours, plus the holster. You wouldn't want to know what I paid at the time!

It was tuned by Andy Cannon, the grip is a Guy Hogue custom from back when he made grips to order, and a Millett rear sight. I have probably destroyed any collector value, but boy does it shoot!

Horton was only a distributor. Smith was and is the manufacturer. No difference price. Although some want to make it out to be.

A Lew Horton Special gun commands a higher price no matter how you slice it. It's just the way it is because they are more desirable and people are willing to pay more for it. The difference is readily apparent on GB and other vendor/purchase sites...

OP, nice gun! I lost out 3 bids in a row on M24 Lew Horton Specials after the price bids got ridiculous. When they hit the $1500 mark I said I'm out. It was a grail gun for me. Finally I found an M29 Lew Horton Special that I was determined to get and just paid the premium. It's my 2nd favorite gun I own and handles/balances .44Specials like no other. It sees its fair share of .44Mag as well. Pic of her below.

It's ironic that the Lew Horton guns often command higher prices on GB because in some cases they are actually more common than the same model shipped to other distributors.

Its a false aura......Horton was no different than Gallery of Guns, Wings, Kittery Trading Post or Cabalas or Gander Mountain........To say yours is worth more because it came from Horton is nuts. I have both the 3" 24 and 3" 624. Both bought for less than $400 when they came out,

I'm not saying mine is worth more... But they command a higher price; and they do.

Very true! And as in all things... something is only worth as much as one is willing to pay for it! I wish I could have bought my LHS's for 1985' prices that's for sure! I'd buy 10 of them tonight!
