3" model 10 police trade-ins at buds

Budsgunshop has a batch of 3" model 10 police trade-ins for $269 shipped. Can anyone shed some light on these? They are square butt and appear to have the standard/medium barrel. I'm wondering if they might be imports.

I was wondering what is the object on the side plate of the gun in the picture? Is it a sticker or something or has the gun been modified with some sort of hammer safety?

I also wondered if they are square butt...if I have a 3" barrel, I would want to carry it and a round butt might do better...just can't hardly tell because I am not very familiar with those...anybody know?

Called buds about these 3" model 10's. The salesman said all the ones he has seen are all square butt; hand-select is not available; he had no info vis-a-vis import or domestic..

I thought the AU guns were all 2.5" and 4" 66's with a few 65's thrown in and were being bought back by S&W??? That's the last I read but of course nothing is offical until you see it in the hand.

That is a smokin' good deal! I bought one of those 3" Sq.Bt. Aussi trade-in M-10's from J&G about 3-4 years ago. It was poorly re-finished and has an import stamp which the Bud's guns apparently don't. I paid about the same then as what Bud's is asking now. However that old clunker of mine turned out to be a darned good shooter and I sure wouldn't sell it for that price today. If I didn't already have one, I'd be on the phone right now. (Bud's can send me some ammo or something for that sterling endorsement iff'n they want, but I won't hold my breath). -S2

Looking at Bud's item number V for Victoria (State in Australia), PD maybe Police Department. "103" maybe Model 10 in 3 inch. Just maybe.

I ordered one. I really shouldn't have. I don't need another gun. But I want a 3" K frame (actually want a 65 3") and the price was too good to pass up. Wife is gonna kill me if she finds out!
