Mike, did it look something like this?

I have a couple with AS and SB 3" .38 model 60.

One is NIB, just like I bought it.

John Jovino had a run of these in the 80s. I bought one from Shotgun News then when I had a
FFL. They also had 1 7/8" barrel M60s with square butts.

The one in the picture is my carry gun and prefer it way over my 1 7/8" 60. The three inch gives better sight radius, balance and pointability and the SB just fits my mitt better. Stoked with Speer 135Gr JHP +Ps and speedstrip backup with the T-grip, I feel very comfortable with it.
Mike, where is it, I'll come over and steal it from under you.

P.S. What are they asking for it?

The extra inch of barrel and the larger square butt frame REALLY helps with control and allows much better accuracy compared to the 2" guns...at least for me.

Mines a Jovino gun too.

I had a Jovino Co S&W model 60 with 3" barrel and sq butt S# AEV67XX. It was stolen in a burglary several years ago. Great gun ! The longer extractor rod made punching out cases easy.
I sure miss that gun.

I had two of the 3" ones but sold them. They were made in 1984 for Ashland Shooting Supply.
I still have an as new unfired 1 7/8" one

I had one and sold it. At least it went to a good home. That is the only one I have ever seen in real life.

Very neat, answers a question I had about these!

Kind of like a mini-me to a Model 64.
