Went by the LGS today and saw some Advanced Armament stuff in stock. They had complete uppers in 9", 12.5", and 16". They also had a complete Advanced Armament rifle in 16". The uppers were priced at $1080 and the complete rifle was $1549.

On the rifle, the 1:7 twist barrel is nitrided and the muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and includes an AAC 51-tooth BLACKOUT
flash suppressor. It has a Knight's Armament free-floating URX III rail with integrated front sight. The BCG is nickel boron coated. It also has a Geissele Match trigger and a Magpul stock and pistol grip. I think that is the high points.

How are these prices and how is the quality of Advanced Armament?

AAC is the company who started the .300 BLK. They are the Colt of the .300 BLK world, lol.

$1549 for a complete rifle. It would have came home with me and i would have never thought twice about it.

Those uppers are priced reasonable. They average around and under the $1200 mark, just depending on what all u get on it.

Ever since i built my .300 BLK, i cant seem to talk myself into pulling the trigger on my 5.56 anymore. I've gotten so use to the .300 and how well it works. The 5.56 IMO, will be used for plinking and thats about as far as it will ever go.

I agree blackout is so much fun, I have a lot of 5.56 hand loaded and I think I will only shoot my sport if I run out of ammo for my blackout. I think the blackout is what the AR's were meant to be :D

Thanks for the info. I had forgotten that you had to do the "extra paperwork and $$$" to buy the 9" or 12.5" uppers. Having the 9" would have been awesome, but the extra hassles are not right now. That is when I was told of the complete rifle.

I guess I'm out of the loop somewhat because I don't know anything about Advanced Armament.

See if they have 16" uppers in a complete rifle, or just a 16" complete upper (u can slap it on your 5.56). A 16" will work just fine for the normal user. Just make sure u run supersonic ammo up to about 200gr and you should be fine.

If you run a SBR (less than 16"). The best way to run it is suppressed. .300 BLK was designed around being suppressed and it is just ninja quiet when its suppressed. A suppressed 9mm round is loader than a suppressed .300 BLK round. Plus the SBR looks super sexy with a CAN on it. Believe it or not, muzzle velocity in a 9" SBR .300 is greater then that of a standard M4 16" and at 400yards the .300 has 5% more energy even from the 9" barrel.

They had just sold their 16" upper before I got there. The complete rifle they have has the 16" barrel. As far as a SBR, I would love to have one, but the $$$ is too much for now. They do look awesome.

Does anybody here actually have an Advanced Armament upper or complete rifle? If you do, what rear sight do you use with the integrated front sight? The integrated front sight looks funky to my eyes.

Can you find ammo for it?

Yep.

U can use an Mbus or in most cases use an optic. The optic will clear the front sight without an issue. Put urself some side mount open sights on it, in case u ever need the open sights for close quarters.

I personally use mine for hunting hogs/coyotes and deer at my camp. So in most cases im shooting them 100 yards or so out.

I roll my own lol
Its much cheaper cutting 5.56 cases down and reforming them then factory ammo at this time but once the popularity increases I expect the ammo prices to drop.

You know that S&W makes a .300blk/ Whisper upper that you can get for about $800-850. It has a 1/7.5 twist rate and is a 5R rifled barrel. The complete upper is just about a clone of the 15T. Only the barrel is different. Just something to think about.

I believe you meant muzzle energy not velocity? Yes?

I will be buying a 300 upper when things calm down, I will use the DPMS with Liberty can and sub sonic's till I get it. Be Safe,

Only down side I have seen is finding ammo... and when you do,you don't want to waste any... :D
