317 question

Why is the 317 not called a 334? It’s not related to the model 17

Very good question. One I have not pondered and it really does not make sense. Also the model could be 363 too right? A 3” 317 is on my want list. Like packing eight .22 cartridges.

Since S&W made they can call it what they wish.......Could have been called a 43-1.

I can’t answer your question but the model is a joy to carry. This was the best $250.00 I ever spent on a new revolver.
