I am under the impression that most 32-20 is "rifle" grade w/ too much pressure for my old S&W.

I think the weapon is a Model 2 Hand Ejector

The side of the barrel says "32 Winchester CTG"

The last date in the list of patents on the top of the barrel is Dec 15, 01.

There are 4 numberslisted on the frame when you swing out the cylinder. 5553

The serial number is 109XX.

I am looking for an ammo source for this weapon. The last stuff we had would jam the cylinder when fired.

Thanks!

The main reason the box sez rifle is because when Winchester started making the 1873 rifle, one of the first camberings was 32WCF. A very popular round for trappers and farmers.

Your pistol, if in safe condition should be ok, but if your still concerned, try some Cowboy Action Shooting ammo, which is reduced loads due to their rules. I have used factory ammo in mine which was made about 1904.
