In the Red corner:
Ruger Blackhawk in .327 Magnum
In the Blue (Gold) corner:
Hand Ejector .32-20 Target (1915 production)
50 rounds each. The Blackhawk is a truck of a gun, it reminds me of my Ford F-250. Big and bulky, tuff as nails. The HE is thin and sleek and handles like a dream. The trigger on the Blackhawk is a little stiff as the gun only has about 200 rounds through it. The HE is lets say "experienced" and trigger is smooth, crisp and light. After shooting the Blackhawk the HE feels like a feather. Both guns are very accurate and handle well. The red dot King front site on the HE really makes it easy to pick up and as with all 6" K frames (for me at least) points very naturally. I have to be more deliberate with the Blackhawk. I have ordered a Hi-Viz red dot site for the gun and I think it will make a big difference. I tend to jerk the trigger more with the Blackhawk, which is not the gun's fault. I will see if the trigger gets smoother and lighter with more rounds through it.
I wish Smith would make a .327 version of a model 17, that would be an excellent trail/small game DA. The .327 cartridge rocks, I put two Guiness cans that had been filled with water and frozen out at 25 yards and there was no contest which cartridge hit harder. The .327 demolished the can, .32-20 put a good sized hole in it but was nothing like the .327.
If you have a shooter 16-4 think long and hard about having drilled to accept the .327.
