Greetings;
I recently acquired this little gem, and noticed that there was
a hesitation in the action when pulling the trigger in DA mode.
A closer look shows that the firing pin rubs on the top of the hole in
the breech face. It almost looks like a bushing there. There is not
the same appearance on my other 32 DA.
At any rate, there is no mark of wear on the firing pin, and,
although I have only fired three cylinders through it, it functions
properly.
Is it worth the trouble of repairing, since I won't be shooting it that much?
I didn't buy it for range work, I bought it because I just couldn't live without it.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. TACC1

Maybe someone swapped the hammer to fix a broken firing pin problem? (most likely cause)
The firing pin could be bent upward. Look at your empties and make sure the primer strike is centered.
Possible but doubtful that the hammer stud is bent or the pivot hole in the hammer is warn causing it to shift upward.

Much obliged for your reply. This gives me another chance to exercise it.
The hammer appears identical to the other one, and there is no sign
of any bending.
After cocking the hammer, and then lowering it with SA pull, the pin fits normally in the hole in the breech-face. Almost like pulling the hammer changes the geomety, somehow. This happens in DA and
manual cocking. If just pulling back without going to full cock, the pin will not re-enter the hole fully. Leaves the hammer back about 1/16th inch. Maybe I should see if I can get a picture of this. I'll have to
use my "little" camera. TACC1

If you pull the hammer back and let it down, it is going into a "half cock" notch. This is the position it should be in to lift the latch to open the action. This keeps the firing pin from dragging on the ammo as the firing pin does not "rebound" when triggered, and will protrude through the pin bushing.

H Richard;
Thank you, I've got so much to learn, and not enough time.
I'll take another look; that would explain the proper function
after fully cocking it. TACC1
