.32 double action 4th model

I was looking through some of my grandpa's old guns and found a break action revolver and afer looking through the forums i'm fairly confident its a .32 double action 4th model. I would like to know if anyone knows what year his gun was made. The serial number on it is 129007. Also if I wanted to shoot it would I need to find black powder bullets or would factory .32 S&W short's be fine? Any info on this revolver would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Forum. If the gun's in good mechanical condition, locks up tight, etc. ,you can shoot modern .32S&W ammo. OK. 129007 was made in 1889. Ed.

Thanks for the response! I think I'll have someone take a look at the gun before I go shoot it. The hammer wont stay back so it can only be shot double action atm, but other than that it looks to be in pretty good condition. I'm actually pretty surprised how nice everything looks for being that old. My Grandpa had a bunch of guns so hopefully I'll find some other cool pieces tonight.

I've been using store-bought ammo in my 32's.
As I learned from people here on the Forum, today's ammo
is pretty mild, and should not cause any problems in your
firearm. "Ammo To Go" has been providing my re-supply.
