I work at a pretty rural Golf Course in CO. In the winter the coyotes get pretty brave when there's no golf. Getting a safe shot is not a problem; noise is though. I've shot 32 S&W Long for ever and never felt the need for hearing protection not the loudest round. Need a little more oomph than a 22. even though these yotes come inside 30 yards with no fear. I'm shooting a Ruger Bisley .32 H&R and am thinking of setting a 115gr bullet long in a 32 S&W case on top of 2.0 gr of Titegroup or BullsEye. Dam things attacked my dog, so retaliation is necessary:mad:

I'd be more inclined to a 12 ga. shotgun, but if you want to use the .32 a 100-gr RCBS cast LSWC at 1000 FPS should work, with good shooting on your part. I tried various slower powders and settled on Clays UNIVERSAL. It was the most accurate in my 631, and also the most consistent on the chronograph.

I need a pop ,not a boom and people tend to notice a shotgun in your golf cart. I can hide my Ruger. Believe me I would totally use some 3" 00 buck. Still pretty Loud. Id prefer my 223 Contender fast twist barrel and a 75gr HP

I didn't get whether you plan on using SW long brass or 32 h&r mag brass.
I suggest the h&r mag brass because there is no powder build up in the cylinder at the end of the case. You can also get a much more serious round.

In 32 h&r mag brass:
115gr bullet with 2.5 of titegroup gives 907.

That's still 2 or 3 hundred fps under where I shoot my very stout Dan Wesson 32 H&R mag loads (scoped). My Ruger Bisley single 7 327fm and my Ruger 8 in 327fm both shoot hot H&R mag; but as most folks know, those are built like tanks to withstand that 45,000 psi 327fm load.

Like always, work up your loads slowly for your gun watching for pressure signs.

Prescut
I've been shooting the 32-20 for 60 years.

The Accurate Molds 31-114D loaded in .32 Long cases over 2.0gr Bullseye is quite accurate in my .32 H&R Ruger Bisley out to 25 yards. I haven't tried it at longer ranges, but it should do fine. I have not run it across a chrono yet.

Seated to the crimp groove, the bullet just touches the chamber throat.

This is an Ed Harris design:
Accurate Molds: Custom Bullet Molds

Good luck with your yodel dog problem.

I have close to a 800 bullets of that design. been sizing them down to .311. My Ruger has very tight throats. Probably could size down town to .310. Anyway , those yotes are tuff! Center punched one with a .22 Stinger HP at 15 yards with my Ruger MK1. Let out a whelp , jumped in the air and ran off. I feel with this loading they wouldn't run off at that range.

Being just a "Yote".............

I would not mind in the least, just putting a .22 or two in this animal that
attacked my dogs........... They are pretty quiet and will do the job.

Just depends on where you are and the best weapon to use.
Good luck.

I shoot a Speer ,98 grain full wadcuttter with I think it's 2.5 grains of Bullseye. It's about like shooting s 22 in noise and recoil. That should be a good load to use.

Right! Still like see them DRT and Id like to use my Bisley

I had a Ruger single six with a 22 magnum cylinder that was great on "Yotes" that got inside of 50 yards.

Back then they did not have the 40 gr Velositer in the "HOT" 22 loads yet.

Yes, the 32 would be a hoot, for the job if you could get a load that shoots well.
Have fun.

I remember an October outing when we were asked to leave the course after the 7th hole just because we had shot three greenheads coming off the pond. A 20 gauge dies fit well in a bag, but it is noticeable.

My 32 Single six magnum is fairly loud but i believe a 100 gr cast bullet would do a great job on a coyote.
