This revolver came from a member of this forum who also posted a thread about it awhile back, but that thread is on the private forum now.

I have a weakness for early Smith & Wesson revolvers in original boxes and here’s one of two early Smith & Wesson revolvers in original boxes he sold me recently.

I especially like how the patent dates look on the cylinder. Note the resultant absence of markings on the barrel.

The serial number is a little weak but removal of the stocks shows no date code and there’s no evidence of a refinish.

An added bonus was the inclusion of the target used by Smith & Wesson to test fire this revolver, presumably June of 1901, when it was shipped.
