I have 2 of the older I frame .32's; a 4 1/4" and a 3 1/4"--thanks to Forum member Ken L. They're more fun than a room full of cheerleaders!

I agree, the little I Frame 32's are great fun. Unfortunately, their like Lay's Potato Chips, you can't have just one.

You don't have to tell me about the connection between I-frames and fun. I've known about it for years. I had to consciously stop buying them after the safe started to start looking too redundant. I finally have settled on a "Mutt and Jeff" pair as my keepers, a 6" Regulation Police and 2" HE Snub. Since this picture was taken, I've swapped out the RP for an RP Target... why have all that sighting radius and not be able to take advantage of it? That's the long and short of it!

Everybody needs an I-frame .32 or five. I got this oldie (about 1914, so a century old in the coming year) at an auction a while back. I love it dearly despite a few rough spots and some unnecessary scratches. Even a little beat up, this gun looks better at its age than I do at mine:

There are some longer barrel .32s as well, but I still need to find a two-inch prewar or at least pre-1953 to fill out the types. For reasons I don't quite understand, I have drifted toward two-inch guns of any frame size in recent years. Maybe I just got as many of the longer barrel models as I felt I needed. Or maybe I am in a slow oscillation and will drift back the other way as time goes by.

I am putting together a series of these for the SWCA meeting next year….an evolutionary set…
I need a Model 1903 (any change) as an example of the 2nd series of .32HEs. I am looking for a LN or LNIB example. Also, I want to show a Model 1905 32.20.. I have most all the rest.

Just found a 2" Pre-30 at my LGS. I can't photograph it for a couple of weeks, since it takes 7 days in MD + the 20 day wait on a trade-in.
Do you know when the S&W escutcheon was put on the grips? I have 3rd models with and without!!!

Gold plated over brass stock medallions on premium stocks like MOP and ivory pre-1910, but not wood until 1910-1920.
No medallions except on premium stocks until 1929.
Flat silver plated over brass medallions after 1929.
Nickel plated over brass, curved medallions following WW II.

My latest revolver is a early MOD-30 3inch. I have taken a real liking to the I-frame. Keeping my eyes open for a longer barrel version.

That's a sweetheart. In that vintage, the 2" & 4" are the only other barrel lengths offered. But 6" barrels can be had on the pre war models.
