.32 Hand Ejector

I have a .32 S&W Long hand ejector . It has 4 screws on the side plate and one on the forward side of the trigger guard. S&W emblem on left hand side and smith & Wesson stamped on the left side of the barrel. S/N IS 365XXX. The finish is blued with about 60% remaining. Barrel length is 3.250 fixed sight. Approx value and any info on this revolver would be appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the Forum. Value sounds like $125-$175. If a family member owned it, it would be priceless, to me anyway. We really need pictures to determine a value.

I have a couple on my list with nearby SNs. Both shipped in the second half of 1923. It is probably a .32 Hand ejector Third Model, but there are other possibilities. Is the SN on the butt or on the front grip strap? It the latter, it would be a .32 Regulation Police. An instance in which a few good pix would help in ID and value estimation.

Welcome to the forum. If you could post a pic or 3 guessing at value would be a bit easier. Also have you verified the s/n matches on the cylinder, barrel butt of the frame, and possibly on the right hand stock panel? Also I believe there should be another screw under the stock.

I'm thinking you have a pre-war .32 Regulation police. But I've been wrong before.

Thank you all for the welcome. The S/N is on the butt of the revolver. When you swing the cylinder open there is a number on the frame 11964 and the same number on the cylinder crane. I will have to figure out how to post pictures.

The numbers on the you mention are assembly numbers. Nothing to do with the s/n.

Looks like 1920-mid 1922 production.

Still a pretty good shooter, and ammo is not that difficult to find. In addition to .32 Long, it will also use the shorter and weaker .32 S&W cartridge. Value is an elusive concept. You might find one at a gun show in about the same condition priced at maybe $250-$350, but if you tried to sell it to a dealer, you might be offered half that or less. Without the frame stamp of "MADE IN U.S.A." it would have been manufactured before mid-1922. But not too long before. They are by no means rare or unusual, unless in tip-top condition.

Dan Thank you for being so kind to post the pictures for me.
My friend who owns this revolver is considering selling it and had asked me to find out what it is worth so he could ask a fair price for it.

I had told him it looked to be worth $200. max is what he may get for it.

I would like to have it but I just bought a SP101 in .327 Federal mag so I'm out of cash right now.
