.32 Safety Hammerless 2nd Model 2"

A recent Gun Broker purchase, this .32 Safety Hammerless 2nd Model 2" is my second one of this type with a 2" barrel. Serial # 1156XX.Grips are not original to the revolver, but are only about 100 numbers off the serial number. Best thing is the price I paid, only $375.00 shipped. The buy it now was $ 355.00. Guess some of you were napping when this one popped up. Letter request from S&W has been sent.

Do you know anything on the history of that first 2" .32 Safety?

Yes, It was a special order made in early 1890s, according to the Floor Foreman's day book, and shipped June 14, 1893. It will be in a display at the S&WCA meeting in Boise in June. Ed.

The Letter for this revolver arrived today. Shipped on July 2, 1902 to Phillip Bekeart Co., San Francisco, CA... Not bad looking for 110 years old. We should all be so lucky.
