32 WCF

The information on the Colt forum is only hearsay that Winchester might run a batch of 32-20 ammo in the near future. Nothing about reloading except for one comment.

Factory ammo in 32-20 is still produced from time to time.

I know that Federal runs it here and there. And I am pretty sure that Winchester does the same. I load my own for the two rifles that I have chambered for that round. But I have acquired factory ammo for it at various times over the years. No big deal.

Winchester will load 32 WCF (ie 32-20) when the bean counters perceive a big enough demand, or when they get a BIG order from a distributor. I would not be surprised to see them sell baggies full of 32 WCF brass since they will be making it anyway. ;)

Starline 32-20 brass has been, to a certain degree, a mixed blessing. The fact that they make it when the demand is sufficient takes the pressure off of Winchester by satisfying some of the greatest demand before it gets big enough to attract attention from Winchester.

As long as the demand from nouveau shooters for the most common calibers (read “9mm & .223”) is so high as to take up such a high percentage of manufacturing capacity, the less popular calibers move to the rear of the line. :(

I saw Remington and HSM .32/20 ammunition in shops here in NE Georgia last week if anyone needs some.

I just spoke to Emma over at Starline Brass this morning and gave her my cc data for an old backorder of 327fm brass they finally want to ship to me.

That was great hearing, but when I asked her about 32-20; she flat out refused to even guess when they might make a run. it was mighty discouraging.

It's anyone's guess when any manufacturers will produce 32-20 brass.
Optics Planet ensnared lots of folks here with a PROMISE to send brass, but later. Has anyone gotten any?
If you see some for sale under $2, it's a SCAM. Pull your finger off the mouse slowly and back away from the keyboard. I've seen four SCAMS in the last 2 months.
Don't get desperate ! Lose money, and still no brass.

Rumors were spread 2 months ago from an "inside?" source that Starline was going to produce 32-20 soon. Sounds like the same stuff now about Winchester.

For some calibers which are not big sellers, the manufacturers will sometimes make small production runs every several years to meet projected sales demand. But not for all low demand calibers. I remember one time when I had business in Federal's Anoka plant, they were making as I remember a one-week run of .35 Remington, which they figured would be enough for building an inventory for about 5 years of market demand.

I was in the Remington ammo plant many years ago and the operator of the 28 ga loading machine told me that they were going to run a batch (2 days) of 28 ga hunting loads to warehouse that should last 4 years. He also told me the only difference 'tween the hunting loads and skeet loads was essentially shot size even though they were marked with different DEs. Those loading machines really make ammo fast

Yes, they do. When Winchester was in East Alton, they had the military contract for 9mm. They had two Manhurin loading lines going 24-7, almost too fast to see individual cartridges running through. But that was only part of it. The cases and bullets were also being made in other parts of the plant, and packing lines were also running. Mostly women were working there. Working on a packing line must be unbelievably boring. I guess women were better at that. That was where final inspection was done. Talk about boring, staring at a never-ending parade of cartridges going by. For a while in the late 90s-mid 00s, I was a regular visitor to Remington, W-W, and Federal plants also to Lake City.
