I finally asked my local FFL to order a 325 Night Guard and it arrived today. Of course I picked it up and made a beeline to the range after work. :)

Fit and finish on this gun are very nice, it fits my hands quite well even though a couple of co-workers test fondled it and proclaimed the trigger reach to be a bit long. No sharp edges on the trigger and the pull is smooth if just a bit heavy.

I fired it with Blaser Brass 230gr fmj, Winchester 230gr jhp, and some reloaded 200gr fmj rounds. Recoil is very mild compared to what I've read, less than my Mountain Gun with the 10gr Unique/240gr lswc load and more pleasant than a "K" frame Mdl 66/19 snubby firing magnum rounds. I did find that the bullets in the Blaser rounds would slip forward from recoil and the sixth round would have half the bullet hanging out of the case.

As it was getting dark when I got the the range I only shot on steel targets. I did fire a couple of groups at a recently painted plate and was rewarded with an @ 3" group at 20 yards offhand.

I believe I've found a suitable little hammer for when I don't feel like carrying a 1911. :)

Does anyone know if it's safe to fire .45 GAP rounds in the 325? A local store has some he'd be happy to get rid of cheap, sounds like good plinking ammo.

Rick, I'm glad you got the critter home. You just can't have those orphans out on the street! Congratulations on your acquisition.

I have one I bought this past summer. It's now become my daily carry revolver. The accuracy is like yours, and the only change I made was to swap out the Pachmayr's for a set of Hogue's. I carry it in a Don Hume J.I.T. slide holster

Honestly, the recoil feels more like a .38 than a .45.

Just as a guess, you can probably use the .45 GAP, although the case mouth-to-forcing cone is a bit greater, and that might cause some deterioration in accuracy.

Dennis,

Thanks, reading some of your posts are what helped me make the decision to order the little beastie. I've got a J.I.T and an IWB holster on order from Don Hume. Next up will be some extra moon clips and something to carry them in.

Off to the reloading room...

Congrads on your purchase Rick, I really like mine. Think I've had it for about 7 months. I bought 100 moon clips for around $30 off e-bay. A guy who lives near me made me a custom kydex holster and a couple of moon clip carriers.

Picked up my 325 night guard today also. It will be my primary carry gun, and the 340pd will go to the daughter when her handgun carry permit arrives in the mail.
