Hello
I ran into a performance center 327 with the snub nose. It has the dreaded IL, but I think that I can live with that.
It is an 8 shot, which I like. Anyone have one of these? I am trying to get some information.
As far as recoil, is it bad? The revolver is fairly light, that is why I was wondering.
What would be a good price on one of these. The grips are wooden, and look pretty good.
Any information would be appreciated.

I have one. 8 shot is nice unless you want to shoot IDPA, or IPSC. They only like 6 shots. My personal thought on kick is that certain 357 loads are almost unmanageable, I shoot mostly 38's Low flash, short barrel loads. If this is to be some sort of carry piece, I would recommend a J or K frame. If like me, you want a different shooter I would recommend a steel snub like the Bloodworks gun.

Recoil with .357 Mags is severe, but it's not as bad as a 340. It's no problem with .38 Specials. The gun accepts moon clips and the factory stocks are made by Ahrends. Mine came in the zippered rug shown. I think $650-$700 would be a good price for a used one.

I too would consider $650-700 for a clean used one a bargain. My best friend bought one last year on GB. Paid around $900 total for a new one. Seen many new ones going for $1000 plus.

Mine came in a zippered rug about 2 feet long, never did figure that out. If you have a few guns it is an interesting one to own. mine also arrived with a set of walnut stocks with an orangey stain, it looked nothing like the photo on the S&W site. I had to have Ahrends make me a set of nice ones.

There are two 327 snubbies for sale at Williams here in Michigan, $800 and $850.00 asking prices. I think they will come down 25 to 50.00. They have a 627-4 in .38 Super as well, no compensator, just the cap, marked about 950.00. I have no financial interest in these guns or with Williams, just trying to pass on help to anyone interested as has been extended to me on this forum.

I called again tonight before they closed and tried to get a good price out of the dealer. He did not even have a price on it before tonight.
He said the best he could do was 825.00 plus tax and such. From the replies here, except for one, it looks like it may be somewhat high for a used one.
I am carrying either a 638 or a 640 at present, or sometimes a 686 snub.
I was considering it for carry, then the thought of paying 900.00 or more for a carry gun is really thought provoking.
I really liked it, but would like to fire one before purchase.
Decisions, decisions.
I will sleep on it and get back with the dealer either Friday or Saturday.
Thanks for the replies. You guys really helped me out.

Why buy a .327, when a .38 spl does a better job, costs a whole lot less to shoot, and has an impressive record behind it. Seems to me, there is (was) no need for another .32 caliber. Why did they even bother to make it????

I love my Model 327. 8 shot .357Mag and it goes bang every time and carries as much as a bottom feeder. Train with the Specials and carry using .357's 158 grain soft points. We're not allowed to carry using the evil hollow points here in PR of NJ.

Bob,
You are a bit confused. The thread is talking about a model 327 revolver, not a revolver chambered for the 327 Magnum.

This is a Scandium framed 8 shot N-frame. 5 or 6 variations of the 327 have been made so far. The OP is talking about the 2", fixed sight Carry model.

It puzzles me why any one would want a 327 when an eight shot Night Guard is available with a 2.5 inch barrel. However, the 327 is probably one bad to the bone looking gun at close range. Imagine all that can be seen on the receiving side is that huge round circle of seven bullets staring back with one big black hole at the top. That has got to be more intimidating than any five or six shooter.

I really like my 327 performance center snub. I shoot mainly .38s through it and find the recoil very light, nothing like the air weight j frames I usually use.

I am now carrying my 327 daily as my in the car, in the brief case revolver. Love the eight shots.

I bought mine new, but if I see a used one....
