I posted this under a thread about my new grips on my 629-1 and though some may like this front sight for those with aging eyes.

I took a few pics of my 329PD today to show the front sight that I bought from Mag-na-port and installed myself. Didn't come out bad but I bet Mag-na-port would have done a better job but I like tinkering and doing projects.

I believe they charged me $15 for the sight blade. They only have the one style which has a similar profile to the Smith sight. I believe the sight is originally produced for one of the Ruger handguns.

The bottom portion that fits into the sight base and the from of the sight has to be trimmed to fit on the 329.

John,
I'm curious, why did you replace the Hi-Viz front sight on your 329PD?

The red just didn't show up very well. With the ports it didn't take but a few shots to cloud the sight completely negating the fiber optic qualities. The green is brighter and better at light gathering I have found. The spray from the ports do not occlude the ability of the plastic to gather light. I also didn't like the shallow Vee rear sight which I converted to a square notch with a wider window so the front light has more light on either side. After shooting it at an indoor range I was well pleased with the outcome of the modification.

By the way, the ports were already there when I purchased the revolver second hand. I also suspect that the previous owner had the cylinder coated as they are usually gray in color and mine is closer to the black of the rest of the gun.

Nuff said! Thanks!

Sure glad mine doesn't have any "ports"! How's the noise factor?

I am not bothered by the noise due to the earphones. I have never shot the gun without hearing protection and wouldn't unless hunting.
I wish I had the opportunity to shoot one without the ports just to see if they make any difference in the muzzle jump.
