Can anyone tell me whether the 329 is a square butt or a round butt? I'm trying to find some comfortable, yet concealable grips for mine. I'd appreciate some expertise in this area...thanks

Thanks....any info about some good grips? Also can anyone tell me FOR SURE whether the 329 is a round butt, I've heard it both ways.

I believe it's spelled Ahrends. You can phone order them from Kim Ahrends or by from in stock supply at Top Gun Supply. Another one to look at is Craig Spegel grips available through Novaks, among other places. Especially if you are interested in checkered grips. Eagle grips are also a good boot style grip for concealment. There is a thread on here somewhere with a list (try searching) . . . good luck!

329 PD grips

Order a set of Hogue grips from Smith that were made for the Smith X frame. They fit the 329PD nicely and help absorb the recoil. These grips are NOT available from Hogue, only Smith. I love them on my 329PD.--Shuz

Thanks for your replys, I knew I could count on you guys for expertise.

They are round-butt guns.

Give this some thought. The Hogues are sticky and will grab the skin of your shooting hand. When the gun goes off, it can make recoil really unpleasant. If you wear a glove, this is a non-issue.

Without a glove, you might want to consider wood. You might prefer something smooth (no checkering) and possibly something that covers the backstrap of the frame.

Nill makes some interesting patterns for RB N-frames. Their stocks fit the guns like they grew around them, which is important for a hard-kicking model. I have yet to order anything, but am considering it. I do not wear shooting gloves, generally, and am getting a little tired of the X-frame stocks that feel like they are trying to tear the skin off the palm of my right hand. They seem like they would be a perfect solution, but for me, I am not so sure.

Does Pachmeyr make a nice concealable Round Butt model for the 29's? These guns are super light weight... I'd like to try one but I think its a bit large for concealed carry.

Does anyone carry theirs concealed?

I like Hogues, they are hand filling in all the right places and properly lack material where it is not needed.
