340PD XS Big Dot sight install issue

I'm installing a XS Big Dot on my S&W 340PD (part # RV-001N-3). As you can see in the pic below –– the tenon on the XS sight is way way shorter in length than the factory HI-VIZ sight and there is a large amount of open gutter left.

Do I have the right sight? XS's websight shows RV-001N-3 as the sole pinned J-Frame sight...however Brownells shows it as 102046P2053?

The revolver looks pretty bad with such a large exposed section of gutter.

I emailed XS tech support and am awaiting an answer. If your thinking about getting XS's for your airlight you may want to wait till we get this resolved.

I have the standard dot on my 340PD and 360PD. They fit perfectly. You must have the wrong part #. Here's the sight on the 360PD.

Great to know -- any chance you know the part number of the XS sight on your 340PD pictured?

Calviroman, mine looks just like yours, except I have the standard dot. Personally I don't have a problem with it. I think it gives it attitude.
( I had more of a problem with their customer service and sending me a 2 yr old sight)

OK, so putting the replies together it seems that there are at least two tenor length models of XS sights for the S&W pinned sight J-frames.

I hope to have a response from XS tech support tomorrow. I asked them to send me the correct length tenor sight in exchange for the one I bought -- which is resellable as it has not been fitted at all and is a 2012 production Trijicon element.

Did you hear from anyone on the xs sight situation? It looks to me like the hiviz sight has a longer channel on the shroud than the standard red ramp sight.

I also have the 340pd with the hiviz sight.

XS customer service told me they only make one size for the J frame, and its the one I have. Bottom line is if you have a 340PD with the HIVIZ sight and want to upgrade to an XS Big Dot, your going to have to accept the gap or fill it with something. I'm in the process of cutting up the old HIVIZ to use as a gap filler -- I'll post "after" pics tomorrow night
