Thanks for all the help! I think I'm going with the 44!
I agree! I shoot them both equally well.
Thanks Bill. I was just wondering that with this short of a barrel, the effectiveness of the two calibers would be close enough that the extra two rounds would be a consideration.
Blackgun, I agree with your choice of the 44. Your other two choices seem quite wise and give you lots of variety given the crazy limits of CA.
The 44, IMO, offers the most versatility given your other choices. If you feel you need more than 6 shots, carry your 938 in a pocket as a "NY reload". If NY allows a second gun, surely Cali would as well.
BTW, that 629 is gorgeous!
It seems you can't possibly get the best of both worlds. I believe in specific guns for specific purposes. Your lawmakers seem to be putting some mileage on their MJ cards. Out in the boonies/mtn's you can't open carry? Are you hunting when out there? When I think of CC, 44 mags & 8 shot 357's don't leap to mind, but it's a shorts & Tee shirt world here. It's been my feeling that if a hot loaded 180 gr 357 is too small/underpowered then it's time for a BIG rifle or shotgun. I can't imagine being in griz country where they are A REAL THREAT (not one was spotted here 20 years ago) without a rifle.
