Good day, I accidentally ordered some 357 SIG ammo and sender will not accept returns, can my 686 PL use this ammo or is it incorrect to shoot.

Well, I guess you'll just have to get yourself a pistol chambered in .357 Sig. A Sig P239 would be a good choice, plus you can get an extra .40 S&W barrel and shoot .40 too.

Not the sharpest ballistician here, I still feel safe saying that it would be patently unsafe to attempt to shoot 357 sig in a 357 revolver. Before I bought a 357 sig pistol, I would trade the 357 sig ammo on something more useful at a gun show.

I wouldn't call it "unsafe", but more accurately it would be impossible.

The rear portion of the 357 Sig round has a much bigger diameter and will not fit into the chamber of a 357 Magnum revolver.

Edmo

The 357 Sig round was derived from necking down a 40 caliber case, so Edmo is correct, the rounds will not even fit in your pistol. Your only options are:

1) Sell the ammo and buy the correct 357 Mag ammo
2) Trade the ammo for 357 Mag ammo
3) Give the ammo to someone who has a 357 Sig (I just so happen to have one!) :D
4) Buy a gun chambered for 357 Sig
5) Set the ammo on your desk as a future reminder to check before placing an order.

;):D
