I have what appears to be a 4" blue model 27 that says Trooper where I would expect the model to be on the barrel. Not a 28. It came from Oklahoma. Thanks.

It's not one of these, is it?

No...I really think it is a model 27. Nice colt, by the way. I was maybe thinking it was made as a run for a service unit but don't know.

Hi:
A Colt?
The early Trooper began as ".357".
The ".357" turned into the "Trooper" in calibers .38spl. and .357mag.
The ".357" and "Trooper" had the same lock work as the "Python".
Later the "Trooper" was re-designed as the "Mark III" with a total different design and lock work.
"gwalchmai" has posted a photo of a "Trooper Mark III".

Hi:
Here is two Colt Trooper .357 Magnums.
These Models came with four or six inch barrels, blued or nickeled finish, standard hammer and trigger or wide trigger and hammer.
Also standard or target stocks.

My son has a 5',nickle plated maked FHP (Florida Highway Patrol),in excellent shape.Any idea as to its worth?

wonder if by any chance someone made a Smolt from a 27 frame and a Trooper barrel(which would be odd)....kinda like my 19 with a Python barrel

I wouldn't think the Colt barrel would fit on the N frame. I have seen many Smolts over the years, and they have all been K frames with Python barrels, although I would think the Trooper barrel would work just as well, but not the larger frame.
