I picked up a 38/32 at a Sherrif's auction pretty cheap as it was in bad shape and I wanted a project gun. When I dis-assembled it I found the hammer stud had broken off flush with the inside. I looked for a replacement at all the parts places and no luck. I was thinking of sending it back to S&W for repair but with the condition of the gun I'm not sure it is worth the investment. Is this something a regular gunsmith could fix? Anyone know where I could get a replacement stud?? Anyone know of a good gunsmith in the middle GA area?? Any help or advice is appreciated.

OK, devil's advocate. What gun are you talking about? Is it a .32 or .38 what? Single action, double action? Those hammer studs will interchange but is your gun an antique or a more modern Hand Ejector? There is no .38/.32 so this will really help the lame one's identify the part.

YES, there is, .38 S&W on the .32 Hand Ejector frame. It is called the Terrier.

Thanks for most of the replies.

The gun is in fact a 38/32 Terrier and it has a pressed in hammer stud. I had checked Numerich with no luck. I didn't know if the hammer studs vary in size depending on the model but they look the same on most of the models I have.

There IS a .38/.32 Terrier based upon the round butt 'I' frame! Later it became the Model 32. I learned something new. No help with the part though.
