Has it been refinished? At 69 years old it must of been safeguarding the Sock Drawer. It is impressive and thank you for sharing.

It is original finish and has numbered stocks. It was obviously a carry gun when I received it and took many hours of polishing to bring it back. Will most likely letter to Wolf & Klar.

Bruce

Is it a very late 5 screw? I ask that because of the sand blasted front sight. I have only seen that on very late 5 screws.

Now I understand the gun better. Bruce polished it. The grips look to me to be refinished and show some wear. Thought that was odd because the gun looked so good.
Looking closer I can see evidence of the repaired damage. Under magnification the finish does not look as perfect. Some wear on the four line address.

Bruce said reported to have belonged to a constable from Buffalo, Texas. Holster original to the gun. He bought the gun from a gun store east of Dallas. Sounds like the dealer told him the gun had belonged to a constable and that the holster came in with the gun.
Holster made by A ZABEL, Ft. Worth, Texas.

Got the letter and the invoice today. Shipped November 30, 1956 to Amarillo Hardware Company. First invoice I have gotten that had serial numbers on the invoice.
Have decided not to keep the gun, so will put it in an ad here on the Forum shortly.
