I just finished Ren-waxing this one that I found in a gun shop in Austin three years ago on consignment. Very nice, possibly unfired 38/44 HD, 4" "Transitional". I believe that the serial number range on these begins at S62400 and this one is S62845 that shipped in July of 1946. This is a very early post war example that's super clean and one of the nicest post war guns I own. I photographed this old gal in different lights and on different backgrounds so one can get a really good idea of the condition which is superb IMO. The stocks do number to the gun.

That's a beauty, my birth year and only missed it by a month.
I can never find a revolver like that around here.
Great pictures. 👍

Very nice! I love a 4" HD. (y)

I acquired my Transitional HD from another forum member here. Not unfired, but still in very good shape. I do have the original stocks. For shooting, I do prefer the 'short' action, but the long action hammer just looks 'right' on an HD.
