38 cal.S&W ammo

my brother recently gave me a box of fifty 38special +p 158gr semi-wadcutter lead hollow point...they are in the blue and white S&W box...would anyone know an approximate DOM/value (if any) thanks so much

Could have been 70s or 80s manufacture. I have found from recent purchases that it will not bring (or cost) any more or less than standard target ammo.

thanks so much ed....thats what i expected...i remember these boxes from qualifying with it in that time frame
 
I pulled one of these back in the seventies and it was 11.0, 2400. hot ! especially for j frame guns.

Careful! That may look like 2400, but factories use non-cannister grade powders that may have different burning rates.

Do not expect the factory to be using the same powder available over the counter. As said above it may look the same but will definitely
have a different burn rate.
