New acquisition this past weekend, picked up this 3rd Model (179xxx) .38 top break from a local gun show, did not pay a bunch for it. It is very weathered but that's to be expected. Seems to work correctly in single and double action, but the cylinder does not lock up if turned in reverse. Lockup is fine clockwise. All three of my Safety Hammerless guns lock up tight, but all are younger then this .38. Should the cylinder lock up in both directions, which would indicate this has a bit of wear on it? Thanks for any input.

Duly noted. The "shorties" are usually my jam but I couldn't pass this up for $120. A Rem-Oil rub down and it will probably go into the safe with its brethren. Thank you Sir.
