38 M and P, and an old Heiser. A match made in Heaven.

Some firsts today. This vintage 1953 model 38 Military & Police was shot for the first time (outside of the factory). It also was paired up with this beautiful carved HH Heiser for the first time. What a day!

The 38 shot as expected - a lot better than me. Our weather was very cold and windy today so not a lot of time, just wanted to run some lead. After we cleaned everybody up it was too handsome not to take a few pics.

I can tell on those shots where everything feels perfect - your hold, trigger pull, etc, and the shot is dead center 10 ring. And on other shots, not so much.

The gun is good. When matched with the leather Heiser, it is GREAT!! Love me some floral carved holsters.

Because the human hand is not a Ransom rest. Any experienced shooter can tell you that.

I shot 4 cylinders, just enough to warm it up a bit. I have a routine with some of these beautiful guns, shoot with moderation (a few cylinders at a time), clean well, admire, repeat ..... at least on a monthly basis. I've stated many times before that these old revolvers get better with age!

And yes, it's got a tiny bit of a turn line - but to me, it's best that way!
