I own a Model 32-1, .38 short and I've been having a problem locating ammo. I was able to find some 95 grain lead roundnose but would like to locate some personal protection rounds.

Any suggestions?

Number58: Is your model 32 chambered for 38 S&W or 32 S&W? The 95 grain bullet makes it sound as though your gun is a .32 not .38. If it is a .32 most factory rounds are rather feeble, if it is a .38 the factory round is much better, like a low vel. 38 SPL (not interchangeable in your gun) Hope this helps.

No factory loaded .38 S & W loads are considered good self-defense rounds (146 gr/730 fps). These are all loaded light in deference to all of the late 19th century top-breaks still in use. Handloading is the only option short of having another gun. The good news is you have a modern gun that will easily handle stouter loads.

.38 Ammo

Thanks for the reply. From my research, the model I own is used as a back up sometimes carried on the ankle. I have an order in at Midway USA for some more "stought" rounds. I may need to get into reloading it sounds like!
