38 spcl. & AA7

I suffering through some computer glitches right now and can't read PDF files. I went to the Accurate web site to look up loads for 38 spec. (full wadcutter) using AA7 but couldn't read the results. Would anybody consider posting their recommendations for me?

Western Powders doesn't list any load data for Accurate #7, as I suspected this particular powder is a bit too slow to work efficiently in this caliber. I did find one load for #7 in an older manual featuring a 195 grain LRN bullet, that had a starting charge of 5.9 grains and a maximum of 6.5 grains.

AA#7 is way to slow for .38 wadcutters. While AA#2 is just about perfect. I suggest using a different powder, there are many that will work a lot better in .38s.

Accurate only shows to loads.
110 gn, starting 7.3 max 8.1
230gn (L) starting 4.4 max 5.2. They list this as Bowling Pin

I would leave it on the shelf and find a BETTER powder for your use if you have a faster burning powder in the house.

It would be much better for a .357 magnum or larger calibers...... Why use 2-3 times the powder for a target load, when powder is hard to find, in these times?

There is a reason that there is no loading data for a 38 special with that powder.......... it can be done but.......why?

I have used SR 4759 and IMR 4227 in 38 special loads to see what happens.......
Try to find some fast to med. fast powders and you will be much happier with your loads.
