Hello looking for information on victory model I inherited. Its serial is V542XX. It does not have the property of US stamp on it, nor can I find a “P”. It’s chambered in 38 special. Looking for some date to go with it.

Welcome to the Forum.

The stocks are post WW II sharp shouldered models. The correct ones would be smooth walnut service models.

It has been blued outside of the factory. The factory finish was a sandblast grey.

Welcome! It was likely produced in mid-late 1942.

It has been refinished so the property and proof stamps may have been removed. Photos of the left top strap from different angles may show this. It may have also been a DSC gun, sent to a defense-related or LE organization.
