38 spl load data

Has anyone noticed speer load data is hotter than most other data? Also i load alot of 38 spl with HP-38/win 231 but speer shows slightly different data for the 2 powders while everyone else agrees its the same powder?

Speer data is still older data and hasn't been updated in a while. HP38/231 per Hodgdon are the same. Hodgdon owns both brands and knows and states that from time to time.

I agree it just threw me a little that the max load for 158gr lswc is like .3 grains higher than even my old hornady book from the 80s that tends to be pretty hot

Just don't load on the high side for S&W K frames, about anything else is going to handle it.
