I know it is pretty much universally accepted that it is okay to dry fire a striker type pistol. Since the Bodyguard is "hammer" fired, is it okay to dry fire them as well? Please excuse my ignorance.

I would not dry fire the BG380. There have been too many reports of the BG380 failing to fire on the first trigger pull! I would only dry fire it using snap-caps. Just MHO.

use snap caps to be on the safe side. the earliest bodyguards experienced broken firing pins due to dry firing, the firing pins are MIM unless they have changed.

Now that I have my BG running 100% on its favorite ammo ( Hornady American Gunner-500+ rounds), I would not do anything questionable, including dry firing to potentially be harmful. If you're questioning dry-firing, why even consider it ? :)
