The new 9MM Shield EZ has a dimple on the upper part of the magazine body. Watch the Jerry Miculek video about the 9MM EZ. He points to that dimple and says it's there "to prevent to rounds from sliding forward in the magazine". Since Jerry is handsomely paid by S&W, he's not gonna mention the .380 live round stovepiping issue, but it seems the 9MM mag with the dimple was designed to fix it. I won't hold my breath for S&W to issue a recall on ALL .380 EZ mags and replace them with the new design. Sure, it's not happening to everybody, but it's happening to enough people. And just because it hasn't happened to an owner who has fired a couple of boxes of ammo, that proves nothing. Put some real rounds down range and then have an opinion. Scroll to 4:13 to hear him talk about it.

I literally held a .380 EZ in my hand on the last day of the rebate but decided against it. Then the 9MM version came out and I see one of those in my future. I've watched every youtube video on that gun, and unlike the .380 version, I haven't seen one issue with the 9MM version. It's not just the authors of the videos who have had issues with the gun. Read the comments under the videos. Bunch of people with same complaint.
