.380 reloading question

Is anybody using the same bullets for reloading .380 and 9mm (9x19)? reloading data for the same bullets seems almost non-existant. I am currently loading primarily 9mm using plated bullets or lead. But I just bought .380 dies and want to start loading .380 as well. Is there a bullet that will shoot well in both? I primarily use Unique or Bullseye if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help.

I tinkered with this concept once and was left wondering why I even bothered. You sure don't want to load heavier 9mm bullets into the 380. You will reduce case volume down to nothing and could run in to pressure problems. You can use lighter bullets in the 9mm and, if it doesn't leave you as unimpressed as it did me, you'll be OK. Could be feeding problems though.

I have been using hardcast 100gr RN in my 380 and 9mm for years, but only for plinking. I know 380 should be .355 and 9mm .356 but the .001 has not seemed to make any difference in my pistols with no pressure signs. When i shoot the 100's in the 9mm I have changed recoil spring to a lighter # for more consistent ejection ie 4-5 feet away with 3' circle vs. all over the place. As you know changing a recoil spring is easy if you shoot factory or higher velocity rounds.

Theonly bullet weight that may work in the 380 that also could shoot in the 9mm would be 90-100 grains. Any heavier and it will not do well in the 380.

While you can find a weight that can be used in both the bullets themselves are different. The ojive of each is different because the cases are of different length. What's correct for one is not for the other.

Like said above, a lead bullet ~100gr is probably just fine for plinking but the correct bullet profile should be used for more serious work.

9mm is a little bigger than the 380, 9mm is heaver
