38spl with lg primers

I have some old .38 ACP cartridges (USCCo) with LPPs. Probably not unusual for different manufacturers to use different primer sizes at different times. Of course there are .45 ACP cases made today with small primer pockets.

Definitely not calling you a liar but this does not add up well and makes very little sense if this brass is anything younger than 80-90 years old.

Pictures would be most appreciated here.

Many of the companies are moving to small primers where large have traditionally been used (.45 ACP, 10mm Auto) and there is a tremendous benefit for them from a volume production standpoint in doing this.

To willfully and purposefully go the other direction? And for a 17-20k PSI max cartridge? This makes no good sense that I can imagine.

I have a few LPP 38 sp.. I am also certain they are Rem. I read that they were made up to the mid 50s
