39-2 NIB

Well, not anymore.
Went to the Range and took along my 39-2 and a couple 59's. I had never shot either of them.
The 39 is an excellent Gun, very accurate. For me it shot better than any of my new Guns, could not be happier with it. Now I need another NIB Gun.
The 59's were close but no 39. They have expensive taste. No problems running expensive Bullets in them, but they would have nothing to do with the cheap Target Rounds.

Anyone else have this problem with the 59?

I can't help you with the 59's problems, but I can tell you that my 39-2 has never had any issues with ant ammo. It will fire any and all rounds, cheap or expensive. This is what I like about the 39's. They were built to military standards as they were supposed to be a replacement for the Colt 1911's back in the 1954 pistol trials that the Army was supposed to hold. When the trials did not happen, S&W offered them to the public. I believe that is why so many 39 owners love them. They do what they are supposed to do and they do it with real class. Now that so many firearms company's are rushing to make a single stacked 9 mm full size pistols, I laugh and feel well armed with my old-fashion 1968 39-2.

I have had the same thing happen with a couple of my 59`s and one 39-2.
They where picky but with the ammo they liked, where awesome.
Have fun and enjoy them both. The 39-2 is a great little and classy pistol.

My 39-2 and 439 have never had a problem out of any ammo in tens of thousands rounds.

In the last two weeks I have started to shoot some my NIB guns.
Only way to enjoy them.

I agree, I've never owned a gun that I didn't shoot. Even knowing it would hurt the value, there's just something about a nib gun that gets to me.

Im not anti-NIB at all. As a retired gun shop owner, I sold truck loads of all kinds of American premium grade guns that were NIB. A lot of people left the box and contents on the counter and opted for a carry case.

I have run lots of Freedom Munitions reman ammo through my 59 with no problems at all.
