39-2: Two questions

1. How do I remove the rear sight to replace with a fully adjustable S&W sight?
2. I can't get started on field stripping the 39-2 because I have been unable to get the pin to drift out for the slide hold back part. Am I missing a trick here or should I use more force?

You see that notch on the lower left side of the slide? Pull the slide back to where the notch lines up with the front of the slide release, and while holding the slide in that position, push the slide release from right to left.

Also, the manual used to show a hand position you can use to make removing that pin easier. Find a manual, it helps a lot.
