3906 available at LGS (updated 3/22/19)

MSaw a very clean 3906 with the early style rear sight (not winged) at a LGS today. Easily 95+% or better. Looks to have seen very little use. It is a consignment gun listed at $575 but I bet it could be had for $500-525. Didn't ask about box or extras.

Certainly not give away pricing but I'd say fair for the condition and realitive scarcity of the model.

I have not seen a 3906 in so long that I have no idea what it would be worth.

Looks very good. I'd say that $525 OTD range is a fair price. I happen to like the early rear sight; not a fan of the winged sights, I think it spoils the classic looks. Also not a fan of the hooked trigger guard, but that's what they came with.

I'd go for it at $500-$550. I've only ever seen one for sale, just a few weeks ago at a gun show. They were asking $650-ish for it.

I looked all year last year for a sub-550 model 3906. I found exactly zero of them.
I would jump at that price.

Buy it. Offer $525 and expect to pay $550. They are only common at gun shows and Gun Broker, usually for a much higher price, and with a lot more wear.

Checked in on that 3906 and got some more info.

It comes with correctly numbered cardboard box in good condition, (2) S&W 9 round stainless magazines, manual, and waxed paper wraps.

Looks to be a very lightly used, 1 owner gun.

Hope someone here that appreciates 3rd Gen pistols can make a deal and give it a nice home.

I sold one here on the forum 1 year ago this month for $700. It was about a new looking as they get, but didn't have a box. I think I may have kept it if it hadn't had the winged sights, but I dunno for sure. It was "large for capacity" for sure, but shot very well. It's the only one I've ever seen in person.

I would say the 575 asking price is fair with correct box and goodies. I bought my 3906 maybe 5 yrs ago for 675 OTD with 2 mags. I would say mine is 90 to 95% and sits in the safe.

I made a deal for this and I'm waiting for it to clear Maryland's 7 day gun jail. Thanks again to Steve for the assist. It will go well with my 3904.

Well done! More pics when you have a chance please. SCSW say they were only made from 88-90. Definitely uncommon.

3906 arrived - finally

Picked it up today. It's as good as Steve and Derek said. Couldn't be happier.
